Web Design — Electrical

Electrician Web Design

Half your customers are in the dark right now and half are planning an EV charger for next month. Those are different websites, and most electricians only build one of them.

Electrician Website Design for Emergencies and Planned Work

Electrical work splits cleanly into two kinds of demand. There is the panic call — no power, burning smell, tripped breaker that will not reset — where the customer will phone the first credible result and never open a second tab. And there is the planned upgrade: a panel replacement, an EV charger, a basement rewire, pot lights before a renovation.

The panic customer needs a phone number and a reason to trust you in about four seconds. The planned customer wants to understand the job, roughly what it costs, and whether you have done it before. Building for one and ignoring the other is the most common mistake in this trade.

There is also a trust bar here that most trades do not have. People are careful about who they let touch their electrical panel, and licensing is the fastest way to clear it.

What an Electrician Website Actually Needs

Trust and speed, in that order, and then the specific jobs you want more of.

1

Licence number and insurance on the page

Not in a PDF, not on an about page. Visible. Electrical is one of the few trades where the customer actively checks, and being the one who makes it easy to check is worth more than any headline.

2

Emergency path separated from everything else

A sticky call button and an emergency page that loads fast and says exactly how quickly you answer. Somebody standing in a dark basement is not reading your company history.

3

A page per high-value job

Panel upgrades, EV charger installation, knob and tube replacement, generator installs, hot tub wiring, pot lighting. These are searched individually, they are worth far more than a service call, and almost nobody builds pages for them.

4

EV charger content, specifically

This is the fastest-growing search in residential electrical and most electrician websites have one bullet about it. A proper page covering chargers, panel capacity and rebates wins work that would otherwise go to a specialist.

5

Photos of clean work

Tidy panels, labelled breakers, neat conduit. Electricians underrate this badly. A photograph of an immaculate panel does more to sell a panel upgrade than any description of one.

6

Rebate and permit information

If your area has rebates for panel upgrades, heat pumps or chargers, being the electrician who explains them is a genuine differentiator and it pulls in searches nobody else is answering.

Building Your Own Electrician Website?

Electrical is a trade where the DIY site usually looks fine and still fails, because the things it is missing are not visual.

The DIY builder route

  • cancelLicensing buried on an about page nobody reads
  • cancelOne services list instead of pages for the jobs worth money
  • cancelNo EV charger content while demand grows every quarter
  • cancelSlow load on mobile, which loses the emergency call
  • cancelNo structured data, so the map pack stays out of reach

What we do instead

  • check_circleLicence, insurance and certifications visible on every page
  • check_circleA page each for panels, EV chargers, generators and rewires
  • check_circleDedicated EV charger content built to rank
  • check_circleFast mobile pages with sticky click-to-call
  • check_circleLocal schema and Google Business Profile wired together

“Pav and the rest of the Localframe team are honestly the best. I didn’t care about my website before they reached out to me and it’s been 2 months since we started working together and our business is getting 2x the amount of people calling in to book. It’s been refreshing to work with a team that genuinely cares about driving results for a small local business.”

Frequently Asked Electrician Web Design Questions

How much does an electrician website cost?expand_more

Agencies typically quote thousands of dollars upfront. We run a monthly plan instead, with hosting, updates and local SEO included, and we build the site before you pay anything so you can judge it first.

Do I really need separate pages for panel upgrades and EV chargers?expand_more

If you want that work, yes. Those are separate searches with high intent and high value, and a bullet point on a services list does not rank for either. This is the single biggest missed opportunity in electrical web design right now.

How do I show my licence properly?expand_more

Prominently, with the number, and ideally near your calls to action rather than hidden on an about page. Homeowners are more likely to check an electrician's credentials than almost any other trade, so make it effortless.

Will it work for both emergency and planned jobs?expand_more

That is how we structure it. An emergency path with sticky calling and immediate reassurance, and a separate set of job pages for the planned work that is worth more per customer.

Can it handle commercial as well as residential?expand_more

Yes, and they should be separated. A property manager looking for a commercial electrical contractor and a homeowner needing a panel upgrade want very different pages.
